Our Summer School was a fantastic opportunity for our prospective Year 7 pupils to live the Trinity experience. Pupils were engrossed in a range of activities spanning the curriculum.

In History, they used their investigative skills to solve the mystery behind what killed Sal the skeleton from the middle ages; in Geography, they broadened their knowledge of weather and worms; in science, they perfected their microscope skills and played with burning bubbles; and in Art, pupils explored the school’s Christian value of hope by creating a collage of angel wings from individual feathers to be displayed in our spiritual garden.

Other activities saw pupils exploring the library through a polyjuice ingredient treasure hunt, African drumming in Music and exploring core skills in English and Maths in preparation for the Year 7 curriculum. Pupils also took part in RE, ICT and PSHE lessons, and competed in two days of sporting activities, culminating in a celebration of success assembly at the end of the week.

All those who attended worked extremely hard and found the experience both rewarding and supportive in the start of their journey at Trinity.​

Funding Statement

180 places were offered to ensure that all incoming Year 7 pupils had access to the Summer school. Of the 180 places offered, 136 pupils attended. 

Trinity School received funding of £28,317 to meet the costs incurred with running Summer School. These costs were distributed as follows:
