16-19 Tuition Fund

Rationale

The Government has provided additional funding to support students with catch-up tuition at Post 16 during the Coronavirus Pandemic. The support is targeted specifically at students who have not attained GCSE grades 5 or above in English and/or maths.

The Sixth Form has received a total of £16778 for the academic year 2021/22, equating to £270 per eligible student.

This statement identifies how and where this funding will / has been spent to support this group of students.

Student Designation

Those who have achieved a grade lower than 4 in English and/or maths. All students have been given equal priority.

Allocation of Funding

Currently the funds have initially been targeted in the following ways

  • Small group workshops from an external provider to support general study skills focusing on key aspects such as revision and time-management; these have been lost due time out of school

  • Small group tuition for English and maths outside of their scheduled timetable

Further needs and requirements will be identified as the year progresses to support additional allocations, prioritising students who have not achieved a grade 5 in English/Maths, disadvantaged students (as determined by prior Pupil Premium eligibility and those in receipt of Free School Meals and/or the 16-19 Bursary) and students with SEND.
